Hello, my name is Leslee Blatt and I am a graduate of the Laurentian University Midwifery Education Program. My path to midwifery began with the birth of my first son with midwives in Ontario. My second son was born at home with midwives in Nova Scotia. While living in Nova Scotia, I became certified as a DONA trained doula and worked as a doula for three years. I also worked in Halifax and as Childbirth Educator and Prenatal Support Worker at the Spryfield Single Parent Center. While in the Midwifery Education program, I had the opportunity to work in the Owen Sound area with the Amish and Mennonite communities. I also worked in Iqaluit providing maternity care for the local Inuit community.
I have been with the Sudbury Community Midwives for the last year of my education, and I look forward to meeting you as I continuing to work in this dynamic practice.
| | Meghann Leonard BScN, BHScM, RN, RM |
I grew up in a small town in the north and moved to Sudbury in 2003. In 2008, I graduated from Laurentian University with a BScN in Nursing. After completing 3 years as a student nurse, my passion was focused on women and birth. I quickly fell in love with the midwifery profession, and just recently graduated in April 2009. I had the opportunity to work in different communities throughout the program, and enjoyed my last year of placement with the Sudbury Community Midwives. I am very excited to meet all of my clients, and to assist women through this wonderful experience.
Aside from being a midwife, I enjoy working with the University helping out with midwifery education program (MEP), running half marathons, and spending time with my family. |
